Course details
ATTC is an approved training organisation by WDA for WSQ courses. It is also a training centre approved by CAAS to conduct engineering courses for aircraft maintenance personnel in accordance with Certificate of Approval Number MTO/002.
Industry Need
- This course aims to provide people already working or wishing to enter the aerospace industry with the skills and knowledge required to maintain aircraft electrical systems.
Course Objectives
- On completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and application skills in maintaining aircraft electrical systems using appropriate tools, equipment, materials and methods.
Course Synopsis
- WSQ Maintain Aircraft Electrical Systems looks at the process of maintaining aircraft electrical systems. The competency elements covered in this competency unit are:
- Check Electrical Installations
- Maintain Electrical Power Systems
- Maintain Lighting Systems
Primarily, people who require such competencies are technicians who perform aircraft maintenance (avionics).
In relation to the Higher Certificate in Aerospace Maintenance (Aircraft Maintenance – Avionics), this is the specialisation/elective competency unit that is required for the said qualification. In this unit, learners can acquire competencies such as check electrical installations, maintain electrical power systems and maintain lighting systems.
Course Structure
- There are three competency elements for WSQ Maintain Aircraft Electrical Systems. They are:
Check Electrical Installations:
- main components and functions of electrical installations
- procedure of checking electrical installations
- physical features of serviceable wires, wire-loom installations, and installation
- safety precautions in checking aircraft electrical installations
- processing maintenance documentation
Maintain Electrical Power Systems:
- basic theory of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) machines
- basic description of main components and operation of electrical power systems
- procedure of maintaining electrical power systems
- procedure of preparing for operational checks of electrical power systems
- safety precautions in maintaining electrical power systems
- processing maintenance documentation
Maintain Lighting Systems:
- basic description of main components and operation of lighting systems
- procedure of maintaining lighting systems
- procedure of preparing for operational checks of lighting systems
- safety precautions in maintaining lighting systems
- processing maintenance documentation
Student – Lecturer Ratio
Theory:
- The ratio of Lecturer to Students is 1:32 for theory classes
Practical:
- The ratio of Lecturer to Students is 1:16 for practical training.
Learning And Teaching Methods
