Course details

This course aims to provide students with the necessary basic practical and theoretical skills to get them started on working with clients. It focuses on the fundamentals of various hair styles where students are trained to be a hairdresser in the industry. During training, students can hone their hairdressing skills on various live clients. With sufficient training and experience on live clients at our academy, where our trainers will provide one to one attention on most occasions, trainees can aim to be an aspiring hairdresser.

• Colour and Lighten Hair
• Client Consultation for Hair Services
• Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon
• Salon Reception Duties
• Display Stock to Promote Sales in a Salon
• Working in the Hair Industry
• Perm and Neutralise Hair
• Create an Image Based on a Theme within the Hair and Beauty Sector
• Provide Scalp Massage Services
• Working with others in the Hair and Beauty Sector

Entry Requirements

• Completed Diploma OR Certificate in Hairstyling
• Minimum 1 year salon experience as a Junior Hair Stylist
• Minimum age requirement of 15 years old

Examination and graduation requirements

• Students are required to complete and attend a minimum of 75% attendance for each module
• Each module is assessed by practical (passing marks 60 points) and theory (passing marks 60 points) and a pass in case studies
• If students fail any module, they will be expected to be reassessed only in the module which they have not achieved a pass grade. Referrals should be completed within one year of the original assessment date
• Upon completion of the course, students will be awarded the Diploma in Hairdressing awarded by ITEC (UK)
• All examination and regulations are subjected to the ITEC examination board. Any changes made by them will be followed accordingly by our academy.
