Course details

The key objectives of the Master of Design are to enhance the applied design skills of students to the level of master practitioner, develop a critically reflective practitioner who can work as a designer, either independently or in teams and with the management skills to supervise others or to manage design projects, allow students to explore the interdisciplinary qualities of design, and develop the research skills of students to enable them to pursue further research-based study.

Assessment Methods

For Master course, students will need to achieve the passing grade stipulated by the University for all modules.

Entry Requirements

  • Any relevant undergraduate degree (such as design, art, media), or
  • Non-relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent plus at least 3 years relevant professional/practical design experience and presentation of a design/visual arts portfolio

English Language Requirements

All courses at Raffles Design Institute are conducted in English. Students must be able to speak and write fluently in English.

Students who fulfill any of the requirements below will be exempted from English as a Second Language (ESL) classes:

  • Minimum TOEFL score of 573* (paper-based) or 90 (internet-based)
  • Minimum IELTS score of 6.5* (academic module) or equivalent
  • TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) with a minimum score of 700
