Course details
This course covers basic technical knowledge of aircraft gas turbine engines. Topics include operating principles of gas turbine engines and its' essential systems (such as fuel system and lubrication system), types of gas turbine engines and effects of atmospheric variations (temperature, density, pressure altitude) on gas turbine engine.
Objectives
Students should be able to
- explain the working principles of gas turbine engine.
- explain the effect of atmospheric variables on engine performance.
- comprehend the operating principles of hot and cold section of the gas turbine engine.
- calculate thrust of gas turbine engine.
