Course details

This subject examines the underlying theories of motor development and the importance of perceptual, gross and fine motor skills in children's physical development. It provides opportunities for students to incorporate elements of play and creative movement activities into early years physical education.

  • Explain the role of development theories and the importance of play in children's physical development.
  • Plan different teaching strategies and lesson activities to promote gross and fine motor skills in children's physical development.
  • Examine different methods of assessment to monitor children physical progress.
