Course details
On completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and application skills in providing Swedish massage and be able to apply them at the workplace. This unit is within the competency category of Body Therapy and is one of the modules leading to the CET certificates.
COURSE CONTENT
- Carry out pre-treatment activities-personal grooming / hygiene, infection & preventive care;
- Consult with client-basic A&P, effects & benefits, contraindications & cautions, importance of reviewing & updating client profile, client consent, observing professional ethics;
- Perform Swedish Massage - types & effects of different massage movement/manipulations, massage medium, client's comfort & modest, client feedback;
- Carry out post-treatment activities - importance of giving after care advice.
Award Criteria
Trainees must pass the Final Assessment as Competent.
