Course details

The WSQ Certificate in Attractions is an Operations level qualification requiring students to complete 7 Competency Units (3 Core units and 4 Elective units) and attain at least 15 credits.

Students of the WSQ Certificate in Attractions will gain knowledge and become competent in skills from a broad range of highly-developed operational skills specific to the tourist attractions industry

Content

The WSQ Certificate in Attractions course includes coverage of critical safety, security and guest interaction skills. This WSQ course also provides a selection of supplementary knowledge (selected to meet industry and/or inpidual need) drawn from risk management, sales and marketing, service excellence and programme delivery.

Entry Requirement

WSQ ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 or equivalent.

Mode of Instruction

Instruction may include lectures, discussions, excursions, guest speakers, demonstrations, case-studies, practical exercises and activities.

Assessment

Competency Based Assessment for the WSQ Certificate in Attractions may include Practical Performance, Role Plays, Oral Questioning, Workplace Observation, Written Questions, Industry Research Projects and/or feedback from workplace Supervisors.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this WSQ course, participants will receive a WSQ Certificate in Attractions.

Articulation

For progression, participants can pursue a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Attractions (Supervisory level) and a Diploma in Tourism (Managerial level).

Mode of Delivery

The WSQ Certificate in Attractions has two modes of deliver:

  • Part-time and
  • possibly full time.

CORE UNITS  

A trainee must complete all 3 core units leading to at least 4 credits.
