Course details
This course provides occupational knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts involved in the identification of textiles, apparel production and quality requirements for sourcing of supplies. Participants in the course will learn how to efficiently source supplier information, fulfill international and local import-export regulations and communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
This unit is delivered through lectures, question & answer sessions, demonstrations, case studies and group discussions
OBJECTIVES
- Identify sources of supplies in local and overseas market in accordance with established organisational procedures.
- Carry out sourcing of supplies through the appropriate means in accordance with established organisational procedures.
- Evaluate factory (fabric mill and garment factory), product and services against required quality standards and established code of conduct according to organisational standard.
- Negotiate supply arrangement and document according to established organisational procedures.
- Complete sourcing operations with proper documentation and handover / according to established organisational procedures.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
