Manage Product Categories is a course where learners get the opportunity to acquire astute skills of turning merchandise & products into profits by developing strategies that supports customer demands for fashion enterprise.
Product Category Management is a process used by retailers to define and identify key merchandise types that constitutes the entire merchandise assortment the retailer wants to carry and sell.
It is a systematic, disciplined approach to managing product categories as a calculated business tactic applicable for all in the retail industry.
Participants who have completed 75% attendance and assessed as “competent” shall be awarded with a Statement of Attainment for WSQ Manage Product Categories for Fashion Enterprise.
OBJECTIVES
- Research on series of considerations a buyer must process when budgeting and planning their categories in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Present the rationale behind category management and how it helps rationalize products offered to the customers and supports profits for the retailer.
- Develop a category management strategy that supports a fashion entrepreneur market positioning in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Develop a merchandise category product plan suitable for a target market in the fashion industry.
- Create a marketing plan to support the category strategy for a fashion enterprise.
- Evaluate the weekly sales report to monitor the merchandise category performance that supports the generation of profits for a fashion enterprise.
- Track the merchandise category performance and make recommend necessary actions.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Minimum Pass in GCE 3 “O” Level English, Mathematics or equivalent to Employability Skills (ES) Level 5 and above
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
