Course details
This training provides occupational knowledge and skills for the various testing techniques applied to raw material and garment used in the fashion industry. This includes specific apparatus use, sample preparation, testing procedure, evaluation and reporting. Training is not limited to why raw material and garments are tested and its implication to product quality and safety requirement. With this knowledge, duplicated testing and waste of resources in production will be reduced. Understanding of the test report eliminates misinterpretation and improves communication.
OBJECTIVES
- Basic objectives and principles for the material and product testing for the textile and apparel industry according to established industry or international test procedures.
- Appropriate tests and requirements for selected material and product.
- Prepare test specimens for selected tests according to technical manuals.
- Conduct tests according to established industry or international test procedures.
- Evaluate test specimens and data to determine test results according to specifications.
- Report test results and provide recommendations.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
