Course details

OBJECTIVES

Identify, describe and demonstrate/illustrate the various stitches and seams with reference to the ASTM D 6193 standard.

Relate functional and decorative stitches to the types of sewing machines.

Identify and illustrate various pattern pieces and constructions (seam and stitch):

• .Collar and neckline construction (e.g. inset, bound seam, facing method, etc.)
•  Garment closure construction (e.g. exposed zipper, concealed zipper)

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level credit including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:

• 75% attendance rate
