Course details

The course aims to share Singapore’s urban and town planning policies and systems, as well as mechanisms for development in a modern city state. Participants will learn about Singapore’s successful experiences in urban planning and understand how the private residential market can play a supporting role.

• Key principles of integrated land use planning
• Concept and master plans
• Sustainable town planning programmes and projects
• Financing model and budgetary consideration
• Integration of residential and commercial developments with town centres
• Planning for a City-in-a-Garden

Participant Profile

Mid to senior level officials from foreign government agencies who are involved in urban town planning and management, as well as public works programmes

Eligibility

Applicants for SCP training programmes should satisfy the following criteria: 

• Mid- to senior level officials, unless otherwise stated
• Nominated by their respective Governments or National Focal Points for Technical Assistance
• Suitably qualified to attend the training programme, as assessed by the training agency
• Proficient in English, i.e. have a good command of spoken and written English (Please note that there will be no interpreters on hand during the training)
• In good health and medically fit to complete the course
• Be able to attend the training programme from the start date to the end date
