Personnel required to carry out the duties of a Berthing Foreman.
OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course, participants would be equipped with the knowledge and skills to supervise vessel berthing/unberthing operations

- Duties and responsibilities of berthing foreman
- Interpretation of wharf marks
- Interpretation of vessel draught markings
- Types of mooring lines and methods of securement
- Estimating manpower requirements
- Procedure for hauling of vessels
- Principles of radio communication and effective use of VHF sets
- Procedure for hauling of vessels
- Interpretation of tide tables
- Practical Exercise on berthing / Unberthing
REQUIREMENTS
Be between 18 – 65 years old. A medical certificate of physical fitness is required for those aged 62 years and above.
