Course details
This intensive programme is specially designed for trade professionals or graduates who are inclined to make a career switch to the world of tourism and/or hospitality. It aims to expose participants to the current and future dimensions of this most dynamic industry and gives them the platform from which to engage themselves and make a relevant contribution for a new and exciting career.
The key objectives are:
- To prepare students with a comprehensive foundation of the tourism and hospitality industry for a successful career change;
- To provide an insight into the full spectrum of opportunities in the industry including the casinos;
- To explain unique qualities of the tourism industry;
- To enable students to consider entrepreneurship as an option
Mode of Delivery
Lecture, tutorials, discussions, case studies and practical classes.
Entry Requirements
- 20 years old at the time of application
- Bachelor degree in any discipline
- Completed 3 years university degree or its equivalence
- IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
- Students who do not meet the minimum English Language proficiency requirments are required to pass the English Proficiency Test
Assessment
Combination of written assignment, presentation, class tests, case studies and examinations
Awards
Upon successful completion of all 8 modules, Industrial Attachment and satisfying the mandatory attendance requirements the student will be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management by Nanyang Institute of Management
