What will I learn?

  • Understand the various types of the Electronic Navigation Aids;
  •  Know the use of GYRO compass/auto pilot including proper setting and the change of the various steering modes;
  •  Know the use of Echo sounder, speed log, AIS, GPS, NAVTEX etc including their characteristics, limitations;
  •  Proper use of ARPA/RADAR for collision avoidance and position fixing;
  •  Know the correct alarm settings for various ENAs;
  •  Know the ECDIS and its proper operations including IMOcriteria.
