What will I Learn?
- Correct terminology/definition of the various parts of the
- vessel and marine terms/vocabulary;
- Knowledge of different type vessels and the Basic Knowledge
- of the ship construction;
- Know how to read draft and load-line including load-line zones;
- Know the importance of soundings and ballast transfer
- Basic principle of static and dynamic stability, loading/discharging and stress.
- Understand the basic principle of cargo storage and
- transportation.
- Acquire the basic knowledge of the various IMO and statutory conventions and regulations governing the maritime industry, including ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW;
- Understanding the watch keeping procedures in port and at
- sea;
- Basic understanding of the content of MLC 2006 and its purpose;
