    INTRODUCTION

A high level of skills is required of digital media graduates especially in the animation and visual effects companies. More so for companies doing high-end, high-quality projects and productions. Animation graduates with relevant skills and experience is highly sought after compared with a fresh graduate just out of school. Producing a solid production quality show reel is what really enable graduates a real fighting chance of getting employed in our highly competitive animation and visual effects industry. Our WSQ diploma in animation is specially designed to ensure students benefit from an intensive hands-on production based training, drilling them in fundamental core skills to a highly proficient industry standard. That is why we are able to ensure a high track record of over 80% in graduate employment success.

    DESCRIPTION

This is a diploma course. In the 1st year of the WSQ Diploma in Animation, the program focuses on helping trainees build their foundational core skills in their chosen area of specialization (Digital Visual Effects, Animation or Modeling/Texturing). The 2nd year focuses on helping trainees gain production experience, brushing up on production speed and quality. During the second year, trainees will be attached to CG Protege and specific projects will be assigned to students to simulate a real working environment. Meeting industrial work speed/rates is the focus of our training. This is to ensure trainees can produce quality work as well as work fast enough to meet the industrial needs. (During the attachment in School, no stipend will be provided).

    APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

CG Protege students who has reached production-ready standard after the 1st year, will have an opportunity to go through an interview with CG companies. Students selected by companies will be attached to them rather than to CG Protege. If trainees are attached to a company, trainees will be offered a monthly salary of $1700 with CPF.

As $1700 is an apprentice's pay (not an intern's pay), trainees will need to have basic specialised production skills and ability, in order for the company to put them in the frontline as an apprentice. CG Protege will be selective towards the chosen animation & digital visual effects companies as our students' well being is of utmost importance to us. CG Protege will do our best to ensure the apprenticeship has value towards their career. With this said, CG Protege during the apprenticeship period provides night classes for students attached to production companies to help them upgrade their skills based on the host company's feedback. Our trainers will work with the respective company to create structured training to match their specific needs. So far, the companies we are partnering with have responded positively to our tailored training plans.
