The aim of this programme is to equip students with the basic project management tools and techniques that is used in the today’s construction for successful delivery of the project. The programme introduces students with project management skills and principles that are required for take up roles like supervisor, site coordinator, safety supervisor, site manager and project manager.
This programme demonstrates a broad knowledge on the management functions such as principles, planning, directing, monitoring, coordination and control. It is essential that today’s project requires specialised manager to manage the project rather than carried out by architects. The curriculum recognizes and responds to the changing needs of society in the construction industry. This programme ensures that the graduate students will be equipped with skills to sustain and excel in the dynamic Singapore construction industry as well as countries that has best practices.
The students will learn on the different types of leadership styles, organisation structure and construction planning that are essentials to deliver the project within predetermined time, cost and quality. Students at this level will be able to read and develop the project schedule especially on the labour, cost, materials, plant and information. The main objective of this diploma programme is to prepare students to manage the project effectively and use of resources efficiently.
