Course details

This unit covers editing sound for a production using a digital audio workstation. The skills include determining the appropriate settings for sound editing, acquiring the necessary media for import, synchronising audio to picture, editing digital audio, exporting the edited audio project and archiving the project.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Prepare the workstation for audio editing by determining appropriate settings for the project
  • Acquire the appropriate type of media for import into the digital audio workstation
  • Apply the appropriate techniques to synchronise audio to picture for editing
  • Select and use the appropriate editing tools to edit digital audio
  • Export the edited audio project as per the production’s technical specifications
  • Select and use the appropriate backup media to archive the project
