Surround Sound Post-Production is an advanced course that provides the knowledge and skills needed for surround sound post-production and to evaluate and operate modern surround sound systems in a post-production or broadcast environment. This is a Dolby approved training course.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Surround sound formats, channel configurations and coding formats for disc media, film and broadcast.
- Microphones and system setup for surround sound capturing.
- Level- and time-based panning & mixing, mixing techniques fur surround.
- Location sound recording for film and TV, techniques and equipment, listening examples.
- Up mixing, down mixing, compatibility, Dolby ProLogic IIx.
- Effects for surround sound and metadata for down mixing.
- Encoding of recording for CD (ProLogic II), DVD (Dolby Digital) and Blu-ray (Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True HD).
- Two recording and mixing sessions
- Setup of Dolby E encoder, decoder and metadata for broadcast contribution. Mixing and post production.
