Course details

On completion of this unit, course participants will have the knowledge and application skills in studying and serving wine and be able to apply them at the workplace

Course Content

  • Describing basic factors affecting wine style, flavour, quality and price;
  • Applying basic techniques to taste, examine and evaluate wine;
  • Listing major international grape varieties and their characteristics;
  • Identifying various considerations related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages;
  • Describing guidelines for pairing wine with food; and
  • Presenting, opening, decanting and serving wine.
