Introduction

Disruptions to business operations around the world resulting from the catastrophic combination of natural and technological disasters in recent times remind us of the importance of having a fully developed business continuity program. The ability to rapidly respond and recover from any type of disaster that can directly – or indirectly – impact a company’s operations and ability to deliver its product or service is essential to any business.

Developing and maintaining an effective approach to managing business continuity takes take time, effort, and commitment. This course is designed to provide participants with the tools and methods to manage and implement business continuity plans. Participants will be equipped with the relevant skills to execute business continuity plans and coordinate crisis response and recovery activities.

This course is conducted by SeraphCorp Institute (ATO).

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the participants will acquire the skills and knowledge to:

  • Allocate resources for response-handling in accordance with crisis management plan.
  • Identify crisis response and recovery activities to be implemented in accordance with recovery strategies and business continuity strategies.
  • Document crisis response and recovery activities data in accordance with information format requirements.
  • Implement 'return-to-normal' procedures in accordance with crisis management plan.
  • Communicate organisational crisis management key messages to relevant stakeholders.

Training and Assessment Methodology

The programme is conducted in an informal and interactive style peppered with discussions, real life illustrations, case studies and experiential exercises. The activities and group work facilitated during the course will also strengthen teamwork and camaraderie.
