Course details
Fashion jewellery is a popular and exciting lifestyle element. This series of four courses caters to those interested to learn and understand the basics in fashion jewellery and jewellery design, to work and create with sustainable materials. The main aspects covered will be: the techniques of illustrating fashion jewellery, the trends in fashion history and styling of fashion jewellery, design and creation of basic and exciting pieces and lastly, techniques in making jewellery pieces.
Terms and conditions
- Students will be presented a Certificate upon successful completion of all 4 short courses and passing all required assessment.
COURSE MODULES
Fashion Jewellery Design 1 - Illustration and Design
This course introduces techniques in illustrating fashion jewellery and the fashion figure, including the head, the body torso and the hand. Dots, lines, textures and colouring techniques will be covered in this course.
Fashion Jewellery Design 2 - Trends and Developments
This course introduces trends and developments in fashion jewellery by studying contemporary and current examples. Through thematic discussion and critique, students are encouraged to research and explore their own interests to derive inspiration in styling their own jewellery.
Fashion Jewellery Design 3 - Designing Fashion Jewellery
Students will learn how to colour and render illustrations of fashion jewellery with drawings and sketches. They will focus on particular types of jewellery and work on designs. This will build up on skills learnt in Fashion Jewellery Design 1 and 2.
Fashion Jewellery Design 4 - Making Fashion Jewellery
This course explores the fundamentals of making fashion jewellery with sustainable materials. Students will learn to create their own fashion jewellery hands-on.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be 17 years old & above.
Prerequisites for registration of short courses
- To qualify for Fashion Jewellery Design 2, 3 & 4, applicants need to complete Fashion Jewellery Design 1
