Course details

This course is designed to meet the requirements of today's Construction and Civil Engineering professionals giving them the necessary skills and competences to work effectively in an industrial situation, or prepare the inpidual to further their qualifications.  Participants will be trained in technical knowledge and practical skills peculiar to reinforced concrete construction. Subjects like formwork & reinforcement construction, construction plants & equipment, etc., are covered in the course. Course materials will be constantly revised and updated, so that the participants are exposed to the current construction technologies.

Mode of Delivery

This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.

There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.

Entry Requirements

• 17 years old at the time of application
• Certificate in general english
• Completion of 12 years education or equivalent 
• IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
• A credit in mathematic subject
• Students who do not meet the minimum English Language proficiency requirments are required to pass the English Proficiency Test

Assessment & Awards

Assessment for most modules comprise of coursework, tutorials, tests and written examinations. The coursework may include tests, practical assignments, research projects and/or tutorial participation.

Upon passing all 25 modules, a student will be awarded the Nanyang Institute of Management Diploma in Construction Engineering. Students must also meet course attendance requirement to be awarded the Certificate.
