Course details

The strong political and economic relationship between China and Singapore has resulted in increasing numbers of Singapore-based companies posting senior personnel to China to develop and manage their operations there. This first-of-its kind 4-day programme is to arm participants with the essential knowledge and skills to successfully work and live in the world’s largest economy, as part of their internationalization journey.

Programme Objective

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

• Know the impact of political, business, financial and economic factors on an organisation in China
• Communicate effectively taking into account the protocol and business etiquette in China
• Overcome the challenges due to cultural differences and adapt to the local social norms

Programme Outline

• Lessons will be conducted by academic professionals from China’s first tier universities and those residing locally.
• Each module comprises short lectures, case analysis, group activity, role-play and stand-up presentation.
• The programme will be conducted bilingually, predominately in Mandarin
• 4 modules taught over 2 weeks comprising:
• Political and Business Landscape
• Financial and Economic Landscape
• Business Communication
• Adapting to life and work in China

Who Should Attend

• Professional managers who are assigned for a job posting to China or individual who aspire to work in China. Participants must be able to read and write both English and Chinese.
