Delivery arrangements The program is class room based delivered by a combination of face to face Lecturer led training in training room and telecommunications cabling
lab, class exercises, problem solutions, theory classes, practical demonstrations and student installation practical.
The classes are dynamic in nature and designed every term before the commencement of the term by Lecturers and assessors in consultation
with the course coordinator.
The teaching methods include theoretical concepts and classroom discussion with cases of various technical requirement and complication.
Students will be assisted to develop skills and knowledge to fully meet the requirements for each competency unit and their elements.
The delivery methodology includes nationally recognized modules, involves classroom presentation and discussion followed by assessment
questions, assignments and practical exercises. Practical exercises are conducted in a simulated work environment for internal building
installation. The current industrial experience of the telecommunications instructors ensures that the training has a foundation solidly based in
industry practice including the relevant Australian standards.

Assessment validation process Assessment tasks and evidence gathering are reviewed at least annually with input from all teachers involved with that module area
to ensure validity, fairness, reliability and flexibility. There is also provision to consult with members of industry on the validity of
chosen assessment methods and content. The Academic Head meets regularly with all lecturers to confirm the evidence gathering
techniques and the required standards of performance. On completion of the program, meetings are also held to focus on reviewing
assessment tools.
Monitoring and evaluation The qualifications will be monitored and evaluated in the following ways:
Implementation review
One meeting immediately after the implementation of the course to review and recommend improvements to:
1. Pre-course information and marketing
2. Trialling of Assessment tools
3. Student feedback (both formal using the standard feedback forms and informal feedback)
4. Issues that individual Lecturers/ assessors wish to raise about the implementation of the Course
Half year and end of year reviews of all components of the qualification and traineeships as above plus:
1. Statistics on enquiries and sign ups.
2. Completion rates Full qualification completion and numbers of students issued with statements of attainment or qualification
3. Withdrawals and non-completions
4. Industry feedback about the structure, content and field component.
5. Student feedback
6. Complaints and appeals
7. Validation
8. Exemption processes moderation of assessment decisions at least annually
9. 12 month review of resources and equipment
