Course details

Objective

• To understand the characteristics and needs of older person and
• how to relate and communicate with them effectively
• To acquire essential healthcare knowledge and skills to work in an
• aged care agency
• To identify the necessary safety and health measurements

Programme Structure

Class Room Training: The training adopts an interactive and experiential based approach. Trainers use a combination of lectures, exercises and discussions to enable participants to reflect and apply the topics in the real life situations.

Workplace Attatchment: Participant will be attached to eldercare organisations where the combination of theoretical knowledge, skills and attitudes that can be integrated in practice.

Assessment

• Written Assessment
• Oral Questions / Interviews
• Workplace Observation (WO)

Entry Requirements

• Secondary 2 (with a pass in English) and above or
• WSQ ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 3 is recommended.
• Able to read and write simple English.
