This course will help studentsunderstand who they are within the context of their retail management role, andit will help them become more effective at building a successful career. The course starts off with a generalintroduction to the concept of brand and self-brand. Section 2 discusses the four key componentsof a good self-brand. Section 3 is aworking exercise that leads students through the process of defining theirself-brand. Section 4 describes fourimportant concepts that will help students build their self-brand. Section 5 teaches students how to effectivelypromote and market their self-brand. Finally the course wraps up with a lesson on how students can evolvetheir self-brand over time. All sixsections of the course reinforce a theme that effective self-branding dependson high levels of self-awareness and authenticity.
