Course details
This course is designed to prepare learners for employment in the Security Industry as specified by the Private Security Service Act 2004. Learners complete the necessary modules to meet the requirements for licensing in both Door Security Procedures and Security Guarding Services. In addition, this course is suitable for those interested in the area of criminal law and crime scene investigation. Throughout their training, learners complete work placement with recognised security companies in the retail environment, at various sporting stadia and at music venues and other public events.

Learners on this course complete the QQI (FETAC) Level 4 Door Security Procedures and QQI (FETAC) Level 4 Security Guarding Skills Minor Awards to acquire their DSP Door Supervisor (Licenced Premises) Licence as well as the Security Guard (Static) Licence

Learners may progress to the QQI (FETAC) Level 6 Award in Security Operations (6M4980) at DFEi or progress to Higher Education through the Higher Education Links Scheme
