The Code of Safe Working Practices
- Basic understanding of various rope work, knots, block and tackles including the break stress and SWL;
- Knowledge of various mooring arrangements, the functions of various mooring lines and anchors;
- Understand Emergency preparedness, respective associate procedures and appropriate checklists;
- Know the emergency signals and symbols, understand various drills been conducted onboard the ships;
- Understand the general use of LSA & FFA equipments ;
- Accident prevention and safe working practices.
- Understand the concept of Detailed Risk Assessment.
- Understand the importance of Planned Maintenance System and good housekeeping.
- Understand the various watch keeping procedures including when to call master as well as proper record keeping;
- Know the contents of NP100 (Mariner’s Handbook).
