The course provides interactive and engaging skills work which mainly comes from a wide range of material - newspapers, magazines, biographies, short stories, radio programs - and features both British and American English.
What will I learn?
Students are expected to have the following abilities at the end of these two levels:
- Know about state verbs
- Be able to talk about frequency using frequency adverbs
- Understand how to use the Past Continuous and Past Perfect
- Learn Phrasal Verbs
- Ability to report speech and use indirect forms of speech
- Be able discuss rules and regulations
- Talk about plans and how to make reservations
- Be able to use time clauses properly in speech and writing
- Ability to describe personality
- Write a narrative
- How to link ideas in writing to make one's writing more coherent
- Ability to edit a piece of writing
