Course details
For learners who wish to study for a specific international examination or qualification in English. For those interested in working or studying abroad, we offer the global-standard IELTS (International English Language Testing System) training, as well as BULATS (Business Language Testing System) and BEC (Business English Certificate) courses for Business learners, and other professional examination programs for Banking or Legal professionals
Levels
Level 3: For learners with a basic communicative command of English. You should be able to conduct a simple conversation about a range of familiar topics, and understand basic grammar such as using past and future tenses.
Level 4: For learners who are able to communicate in English and make themselves understood with relative ease in most familiar situations. You probably have a reasonable range of grammatical knowledge and a fairly wide vocabulary covering your basic everyday needs.
Level 5: For learners who are able to communicate effectively in most situations. You probably have quite a wide range of vocabulary and speak English with some ease and fluency on a daily basis.
Level 6: For learners who have a high level of communicative ability in all areas of English. You probably use English as your language of everyday communication and speak it naturally and without undue effort.
IELTS
IELTS consists of 4 separate examinations in speaking, reading, writing and listening, all typically taken on the same day, and graded from levels 1 (beginner) to 9 (native-speaker-like proficiency). There is no pass/fail mark and every candidate receives a separate banded grade for each of these 4 skills, as well as an overall average mark.
BULATS/BEC
Some Business learners may find the BULATS (Business Language Testing System) or BEC (Business English Certificate) courses more appropriate and useful for their needs than IELTS, which focuses on general rather than business English needs. Like IELTS, these are internationally recognised qualifications, likewise accredited by UCLES (University of Cambridge Local Educations Syndicate) and have separate papers testing each individual skill.
