Course details

Under the Factories Act for Operation of Crane Regulations (1998/2000), all rigger men are required to undergo Rigging and Signalling training courses approved by Ministry of Manpower.

This course aims to provide trainees with a complete understanding of the fundamentals in rigging and its importance in the field of material handling

Trainees will learn about the proper procedures of carrying out the rigging process by acquiring skills and knowledge in the correct assembly of rigging equipments and ensuring all rigging personnel and public safety.

  • Estimating Load and Centre of Gravity
  • Pre-Lift Inspection of Crane and Lifting Gear and Accessories
  • Selection and Use of Rigging Equipment
  • Rigging Methods and Techniques
  • 3 Step Lifting and Lowering Method
  • Accident Prevention and Emergency Response
  • Out-door Demonstration and Practice
  • Assessment

Target Audience

This course is suitable for all personnel in the following industries — Building & Construction, Marine, Engineering, Shipping and Logistics.

Requirements

  • Above 18 years of age
  • ESS Level 2 and above
  • At least six months relevant industrial experience

Participants of this course are advised to have at least ES WPLN Level 2 & above or equivalent as otherwise, the participants may find the course challenging to understand and pass the required assessments.

How will I be assessed?

There will be practical and theory assessment

Will I recieve a certificate of completion?

Upon successful completion of the course and passing the examination, participants will be issued a Certificate of Achievement in Riggers Course
