    If you have an interest in reptile keeping or have a reptile as a pet, this course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to cater for a reptilian pet. This course covers a broad range of reptiles commonly kept as pets in Victoria. Course outcomes will include: enabling you to correctly identify animals in the pet trade, appropriately housing and feeding your animals to suit their specific requirements and helping you to recognise any early signs of illness or disease.

    Course Content

    The course will start off by looking at licencse requirements for keeping reptiles in Victoria and then go on to look at each reptile group in detail as follows:

    • Pythons
    • Dragons
    • Skinks
    • Geckoes
    • Turtles and crocodiles

    The following topics will be covered for each of the above mentioned animal groups:

    • Housing and lighting
    • Feeding requirements
    • Common ailments and prevention
