Course details
This QQI level 5 accredited course will develop learners as Occupational First Aiders.
The course runs in accordance with the Health & Safety Authority Guidelines and is accredited by QQI. Assessment is carried out in accordance with QQI guidelines and regulations.
Programme Objectives
The overall objective of First Aid is to:

- Wounds and Bleeding
- Altered levels of consciousness
- Musculosketal injuries
- Burns and scalds, chemicals, electric shock
Certification
Those who successfully pass the Examinations will be issued with an Occupational First - Aid Certificate recognised by the Health & Safety Authority and QQI.
The certificate is valid for two years and indefinitely on attending a one day refresher every two years.
At the end of the course the participant will receive a pro forma letter indicating that he or she has attended the course and passed the assessment pending the receipt of the QQI certificate.
Thereafter when the First Aider completes a one day refresher course every two years they will receive a certificate from the training provider, as QQI does not issue refresher certificates.
