Sports, Recreation & Massage Studies is an ideal course for individuals with an interest in fitness and Sport who would like learn more about how the body works best and how to treat and prevent sports related injuries. The course combines a full QQI award in Sports, Recreation and Exercise as well as ITEC qualifications in Sports Massage. Learners can build on the skills and knowledge acquired in this course to progress onto the Advanced Certificate in Sports, Recreation & Injury Therapy. These courses are certified by the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) who apply a rigid set of standards governing attendance, learning and examinations.

Entry Requirements
- No CAO points required.
- An English language test may be required for international students from countries where English is not a first language.
- For mature candidates recognition of prior learning and experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Leaving Certificate (established), Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA), or equivalent.
- Places will be allocated on the basis of an interview.

- ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Level 3 – QAN 500/6501/4.
- ITEC Award in Taping and Strapping for Sport and Active Leisure, Level 3 – QAN 600/1882/3.
- QQI Certificate in Sports, Recreation and Exercise, Level 5 – 5M5146.
- ITEC Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy, Level 3 – QAN 601/5574/7.
Work Experience
Clinical and field work is an integral part of this course. The dates and duration will be specified by the college.
