Course details

The course provides learners with the practical and theoretical skills needed to build their industry knowledge and pursue a marketing related career. It also provides an understanding of the principles and practices of marketing, the functions of a marketing department and the role of marketing in everyday life.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should preferably have a good working knowledge of English, have a leaving certificate or equivalent qualification and / or relevant life and work experiences.

• Understand the role marketing plays in today’s workplaces and society in general
• Be familiar with specific marketing terms, practices, concepts and techniques
• Be familiar with and understand the elements of the marketing mix
• Be able to work effectively in a marketing role
• Understand the functions of a marketing department
• Know how to develop a marketing plan for a product or service
• Understand the role of market research and research methods
• Understand the difference between marketing and other promotional channels
