Course Objectives :

At the end of the course, participants should: 

• Know the fundamentals and skills of the TV picture editing 
• Acquire the basic technical skills of the Final Cut Pro software 
• Perceive the difference between news editing and editing of artistic and dramatic works

Introduction to TV picture editing: 

• The concept and nature of the editor’s work 
• The relationship between editing, filming and direction 
• The concept of editing theory 
• Characteristics of TV editing 
• The main terminology and vocabulary in picture editing • Editing techniques by Final Cut Pro: 
• The basic techniques of editing 
• A technical introduction to understand the basic tools of Final Cut pro 
• Practical exercises of editing using Final Cut Pro 
• Editing and sound mixing and tuning 
• The artistic concept of sound and visual special effects and how to use them 
• Title writing and graphics using • The creative and aesthetic aspect of editing: 
• The aesthetic concept of the visual material 
• The aesthetic and dramatic concept of editing 
• How to deal with the filmed raw material (viewing, organization, selection, creativity…) 
• Post production
