Course details

This programme focusses on two programming paradigms (Procedural and Object Oriented) as well as scripting, in a short timeframe. This course will give you the ability to start on the road to not only being proficient in more than one programming language, but being a better programmer overall.

The intended audience is anyone who wants to be brought up to speed in a perse spread of three programming languages in regular industry use today. No prior programming experience is required, but basic knowledge of one programming language is beneficial.

Programme Aims and Objectives

This programme aims to provide the learner with a rapid and hands-on introduction to three industry-important programming languages, allowing a basic proficiency of each in minimal time. Besides learning the basics of each language, an aim of the programme is to increase overall programming proficiency. As the languages are all inter-related, and span several programming paradigms, this course is an excellent way to increase overall proficiency.

Programme Content

The programme is structured around three languages, and how they each deal with language-neutral programming concepts (data types, variables, conditionals, loops, input/output) followed by a hands-on experience with each:

  • C (Procedural)
  • Java (Object Oriented)
  • Python (Scripting)
