This course enables teenagers to develop healthier positive thinking styles using cognitive behavioural techniques and practical strategies to uncover a positive new perspective.
Students will learn to recognize how some of their thoughts about themselves, others, or the world can be unhelpful and unrealistic and how these in turn can affect their feelings and actions, thus leading into a negative vicious cycle.
Students will learn techniques to:
- identify their unhelpful thoughts
- challenge their thinking
- consider consequences
- come up with alternative ways of thinking about a problem
- form more adaptive and positive ways of thinking
