Course details
On completion of the programme, learners will be able to select and identify the components of a pneumatics/hydraulics system, design simple pneumatics, electro-pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, and perform logical fault-finding diagnosis
Entry Requirement
- It is expected that learners will come from a manufacturing or engineering background.
Examinations
- City & Guilds International Examinations in early June and December. Examinations are set and assessed externally by City and Guilds International. There is a 3 hour examination, 10 questions. Candidates must answer all 10 questions.

Physical Principles of Hydraulics, Directional Control Valves, Hydraulic Pumps, Linear Actuators, Rotary Actuators, Pressure Controls, Flow Control, Electric and Electronic Control (Simple), Reservoir Function and Construction, Fault finding diagnosis, Development and preparation of compressed air, Pneumatic actuators, Control valves (pressure, directional and flow), Sensing devices, Electro-pneumatic control.
