This highly practical programme will equip students with the advanced technical, personal and interpersonal skills necessary to pursue a career in the medium of photography and other related visual media or to proceed with a high degree of competency to degree level through established links.

Students are continually assessed through practical project based assignments including the production of visual promotional materials, running a professional studio, setting up your own website and the event management of major exhibitions.
Progression
Our students have progressed to degree courses in Ireland, UK and Europe and in some cases have been exempted from first year. Universities have expressed keen interest in the calibre of student graduating with this award. The course through the FETAC links scheme allows students to earn up to a maximum of 400 points to which they can add a possible 600 points with the portfolio prepared in the college. The wide variety of visual, graphic, design and technical skills gained on the course also makes students very successful in their direct employment in the photographic industry.

Photography
Complete Dark Room facilities for film processing with photographic studio supported by scanning and Imaging workstations in our Digital Imaging Suites.
Digital Imaging & Design
Industry standard computer hardware and software applications used in the areas of Image Manipulation, Print and Graphic Design.
Art Studio
Modern well lit studio for work in all media and preparation and mounting of exhibition images.
Resource Room/Library
A media library, housing extensive relevant books, newspapers, journals and magazines is available in the college. We also provide the services of the Tiernan Mc Bride library in the Irish Film Institute to all our media students.
Entry Requirments
- Leaving Certificate, LCA or FETAC Level 5 award.
- At interview you may present a portfolio of written or visual work which is desirable but not mandatory.
- All applicants are expected to present with knowledge of the media industry.
- Applicants may be accepted without formal academic qualifications.
There are no tuition fees, however there are costs attached, for example registration fees, examination fees and a student services charge.

About St. Kevin's College Crumlin
St. Kevin's College was established by the City of Dublin Education and Training Board and opened its doors to the first group of students. Today the College offers a wide range of career focused Further Education Courses which are designed to suit the needs of today's students, who are either interested in improving their employment opportunities directly in the workplace or in continuing to Higher Education in Institutes of Technology or Universities here in Ireland or in the UK.
