Course details
The courses are targeted at students who want to be a photographer but not necessarily as a trade. Students will learn how to produce professional still images through learning a variety of photographic techniques and the formation of imagery using traditional and digital technologies. This is an introduction to photographic processing techniques and permanently making an image by the traditional and digital means, basic photo composition rules, demonstration on film processing and traditional darkroom printing and guidance on projects by the digital method.
Terms and conditions
- Students will be presented a Certificate upon successful completion of all 4 short courses and passing all required assessment.
COURSE MODULES
Photography 1 - Analogue Darkroom
Students will be introduced to the film processing process and also the print making and its process. Students will understand how the control of exposure and the resultant fine print can be obtained.
Photography 2 - Digital Photography
Students will learn the method and process of digital images editing and how to recognise some design elements and apply it effectively. This will help the students understand the creative principles and master the techniques to produce interesting pictures with Adobe Photoshop.
Photography 3 - Studio Photography
This is an introduction to the intricate art of studio photography. The student will acquire a clearer understanding of the impact of artificial lighting on the look of a given image. Digital camera will be used for this term.
Photography 4 - Digital Imaging
In Digital Imaging, students will refine their digital photographs via non-destructive methods using photo enhancement, photo repair, photo retouching and photo-composite techniques in Adobe Photoshop.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be 17 years old & above.
Prerequisites for registration of short courses
- For Photography 3 & 4, applicants need to complete Photography 1 & 2
