Course details
The Theatre Performance course at lnchicore College is exciting and challenging. It is the longest established course of its kind in Ireland and has kept pace with developments in, and the changing demands of, the Performing Arts.
This is a full-time course which offers the student a high level of training in all the disciplines needed for performance. As a result it is highly regarded within Professional Theatre.
The experienced tutors are also theatre professionals who bring their knowledge and expertise to the modules they teach. Students also have the benefit of guest specialists and directors who are invited to provide further workshop experience.
Along with the practical skills offered, the course provides FETAC accreditation to levels 5 and 6 along with the awarding of the Trinity (London) Grade 8 acting Certificate, Diploma in Solo Acting, and Diploma in Musical Theatre.
Many of our students have progressed to third level Higher Diploma and MA courses and PHD Programmes in colleges such as Central School of Drama London, Kinston College, London, UCD and Maynooth, as well as enjoying active careers in professional theatre.

First year students work with a director and writer on a devised show. In Second Year, students work with a guest director on a full length Shakespearian production.
During the Diploma Year, a production is staged in a city centre venue, to which agents and casting directors are invited.
Since 1999 a number of second and Diploma year students have travelled to Padua, Italy on a fully funded work experience programme to study the music, mask, and movement of Commedia Dell'Arte.
