This course covers performing aseptic surgery on rodents for scientific research to enable you to comply with institutional protocols, policies and procedures enforced in/by our Codes of Practices, NHMRC, an institutional Animal Ethics Committee.

- Principles of good surgical technique
- Suture practical using artificial surfaces
Day 2
- Preparation for anesthesia and surgery
- Homeostasis and analgesia
- Performing anesthesia and surgery
- Post-operative care
- Rodent batch surgery
- Practical - surgical using dead animals
