In a dynamic and changing workplace environment, employees are often faced with many problems and challenges in their daily tasks. This calls for employees to solve problems at workplace using selfenquiry, reflection and dialogue in a collaborative environment. Through constant questioning of underlying issues of the problem and drawing on past experiences, employees could jump-start the problem-solving process by working together in a team.
Problem-based Learning (PBL) is an interactive learning approach that engages and motivates employees to solve real-life problems by bringing people together to conceptualise, investigate, reflect and share emerging issues at the workplace. This workshop introduces participant to the PBL process, the principles behind it, and the PBL step-by-step approach to problem solving. The participants will be informed on some critical workplace competencies that they can acquire in the PBL process. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the role of a facilitator working collaboratively with the team to solve real-life problems.
Course Format
The course will be conducted in an interactive workshop format focusing on experiential learning for the participants. Through a series of hands-on activities and dynamic exchanges with their peers and facilitator, participants will gain useful insights on the PBL process as well as tools and techniques that can be used to enable them to achieve the required workplace competencies to be effective problem solvers and productive workers.
