Patient Safety Programme (WHO 2010)

Course details

The Patient Safety Programme delivers on all aspects of patient safety as outlined by the WHO (2010). The Dept of Health & Children, An Bord Altranais and Patient Safety First all require that the Patient Safety programme be incorporated into the undergraduate and postgraduate Nursing programmes delivered in Ireland. HIQA have also recommended that all persons involved in the delivery of care should undertake Patient Safety training.

This is a significant educational opportunity for Irish healthcare professionals to be upskilled in patient safety and positively impact on patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications Gained

• An Bord Altranais Category 1 approved certificate for registered nurses and midwives only
• Westfield Institute Certificate of Completion

• Please note that this course takes place in the Trinity School of Nursing and Midwifery Skills Lab.
