    This is an intermediate level course that allows learners to further explore contemporary Jewellery Design through the use of wood and non-precious metals. Learners will experiment with form, structure, volume, joining methods and surface manipulation.

    Course Outline

    • Acquire techniques of joining similar and dissimilar materials , mix and mount various materials in unique settings
    • Experience inserting and joining of metal and wood, and try your hands on sanding, cutting and polishing.
    • Practice different treatment techniques on metals such as forging, granulation, reticulation, fusing, texturing and melting
    • Hands-on individual projects using wood and non-precious metals
