Course details
This course introduces participants to the fundamentals of SQL using Oracle Database technology. The participants learn the concepts of relational databases and the powerful SQL programming language. In addition, this course teaches the participants to use single row functions to customize output, use conversion functions and conditional expressions. Also, the usage of group functions to report aggregated data is dealt with in this course.
Learning Outcomes
- Display data from multiple tables using the ANSI SQL 99 JOIN syntax.
- Employ SQL functions to generate customized data.
- Create reports of aggregated data.
- Use the SET operators to create subsets of data.
- Run data manipulation statements (DML) in Oracle Database 11g.
- Run data definition language (DDL) statements to create schema objects.
- Identify the major structural components of Oracle Database 11g.
- Retrieve data from tables. 9. Create reports of sorted and restricted data.
Administration 1:
The Administration 1 course is designed to give the participants a firm foundation in basic database administration. Lesson topics are reinforced with structured hands-on practices that will prepare you for the corresponding Oracle Certified Associate exam.
Learning Outcomes
- Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure.
- Install and configure Oracle Database 11g.
- Configure Oracle Net services.
- Monitor and administer undo data.
- Manage the database storage structures.
- Create and administer user accounts.
- Perform basic backup and recovery of a database.
- Manage data concurrency.
- Monitor performance.
- Describe Oracle Database Architecture.
Administration 2:
The Database Administrator is taken beyond the basic tasks covered in Administration 1 here in this course (Administration 2). In this course a deep understanding is gained of the most important responsibilities a BDA has: performing backup and recovery.
Learning Objectives
- Back and recover a database (and its parts) with RMAN (command-line and Enterprise Manager).
- Use flashback technology to view past states of data and to revert either objects or the entire database back to a past state.
- Use an appropriate and flexible memory configuration for your database.
- Identify burdensome database sessions and poorly performing SQL.
- Configure the Oracle Database for optimal recovery.
- Configure the database instance such that resources are appropriately allocated among sessions and tasks.
- Schedule jobs to run inside or outside of the database.
- Use compression to optimize database storage and duplicate a database.
Exams:

Certificate:
Awarded to learners who get minimum 70 marks out of 100
