Course details

This course is designed to give learners a well-rounded introduction to the healthcare system. Learners study core areas of nursing and are enabled to put theory into practice through their participation in work experience. This course is taught by staff with industry experience, such as former nurses who bring a real depth of experience to their teaching. In addition, learners are given the opportunity to explore the nursing discipline of their choice by taking one specialised module option.

Additional Information

Learners wishing to apply for nursing in Ireland must satisfy the minimum requirements of An Bord Altranais

DFEi offers FETAC Level 5 Mathematics for learners who do not have Grade C (Leaving Certificate Ordinary Level), wishing to apply to UK Universities

This programme requires learners to undertake work experience that will bring them into contact with children or vulnerable adults and in which they assume positions of trust. As a result, Garda Vetting is a requirement for entry onto this course. Learners may apply for Garda Vetting at Induction in September

Learners who successfully complete this course may progress on to the Advanced Certificate in Health Services Supervisory Management QQI (FETAC) Level 6 Award (6M4978) at DFEi
